Microsoft Burns Rubber With $399 Xbox One Forza Motorsport 6 Limited Edition Console
Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to rev your engines on the Xbox One. We mean that literally, as Microsoft has made available to pre-order the Xbox One Forza Motorsport 6 Limited Edition Console with a racing-inspired design and custom automotive sound effects. Every time you push the start/stop button to power up, which reflects the dash styling of the Ford GT, you'll hear an engine sound. Same goes for turning off the console.
The custom console is in celebration of Forza Motorsport debuting on the original Xbox a decade ago. Forza Motorsport 6, the sixth entry in the ongoing series, will feature more than 450 cars, including the 2017 Ford GT. It will also have tracks from 26 world-famous locations, races in rain and at night, and 24-car multiplayer races.
As for the console, it's the first custom Xbox system from Microsoft to sport a racing theme. A digital copy of Forza Motorsport 6 will be included, along with a 1TB hard drive, themed wireless controller with rubberized diamond grips and 3.5mm headset jack, and a Tenth Anniversary Car Pack download code that gives you access to specially tuned and liveried cars such as the 2008 Aston Martin Team Forza DBS, 2009 Ferrari Team Forza 458 Italia, 2013 McLaren Team Forza P1, 2005 Honda Team Forza NSX-R, and 2012 BMW Team Forza M5.
Since this is a pre-order product, it doesn't qualify for Microsoft's current promotion where you get to choose a free game. That promotion works with Xbox One bundles and is valid from participating retailers until Saturday, June 27, but is only for in-stock consoles.
