Mario Tennis Aces Hits Nintendo Switch This Weekend In A Free-to-Play Online Tournament

Are you itching to get your hands on the latest Mario Tennis game for the Nintendo Switch? Nintendo is hosting a free pre-launch online tournament this weekend to promote Mario Tennis Aces. The tournament starts today, June 1st at 3pm EST and ends Sunday, June 3rd at 11:59pm EST.

Eager players can download the demo from the Nintendo eShop or from the Mario Tennis Aces website. The demo will feature a smaller cast of playable characters, including Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Bowser. Gamers will be able to play against each other or against a computer. Players will also receive a special edition outfit that can be worn once the full game is released.

Mario Tennis Aces is the seventh game in the Mario Tennis series and the first to be released on the Nintendo Switch. The game features several new mechanics such as “zone shot” and “zone speed”. Mario Tennis Aces will include single matches and an online multiplayer mode where players can set up tournaments.

players will soon need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription in order to play online with their friends. This requirement will apply to other games with online play such as Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. The subscription is priced at $3.99 USD per month, $7.99 for three months, and $19.99 per year for individuals and $34.99 per year for a family of seven. The subscription also incorporates cloud savegame backups and twenty classic NES games. Gamers will be able to try their hand at the original Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Mario Bros. 3, Dr. Mario, and Donkey Kong on the Switch.

There is also a rumor that Fortnite will soon be joining the Switch line-up. A leak originally from 4chan hinted that Fortnite may be one of the games featured on the Nintendo Switch at E3. Other potential titles include Dragon Ball FighterZ, Monster Hunter Generations, FIFA 19, Killer Queen Black, StarLink, Paladins, and Overcooked! 2.
