Maingear Makes Instant Use of Intel's Z68 Express Chipset

Intel today officially launched its Z68 Express chipset, and right on cue, Maingear announced you can now configure desktops around Intel's latest silicon. The boutique system builder from New Jersey said it will offer motherboards using the updated chipset across its entire desktop line.

"The new Intel Z68 chipset is a great update to the Sandy Bridge platform," said Wallace Santos, CEO and founder of Maingear. "Offering this update for our customers using this chipset is not only more affordable than getting a hybrid SSD / mechanical hard drive, it provides faster HDD performance."

Maingear need not sell us on the benefits of Intel's newest chipset. One of the coolest things about the Z68 chipset is that it offers SSD caching, allowing users take advantage of an existing SSD to speed up HDD access with Intel's Smart Response solution.

Maingear sells a variety of gaming systems and workstations, including the Vybe (starting at $820), F131 ($1,170 and above), Quantum Shift ($2,674 and above), and the Shift (starting at $1,880).
