LG Unveils “Smart And Simple” G3 Smartphone With 2650x1440 Display
First off, there’s a lot happening under the hood. The G3 rocks a quad core Snapdragon 801 (up to 2.5GHz) processor with up to 3GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB of onboard storage with up to 128GB more via a microSD card slot, and a rear 13MP camera with OIS+ Laser Autofocus (for super-quick focusing) and dual flash and a front-facing 2.1MP camera.
The handset runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and sports a large 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display with a resolution of 2560x1440. There’s a removable 3000 mAh battery, and the 4G LTE device sports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth Smart Ready, NFC, SlimPort, A-GPS/GLONASS, and USB 2.0.
LG is calling the G3’s sexy shape the “Floating Arc” concept, but whatever it’s called, it’s beautiful, especially in tandem with the brushed metal back. The device also offers LG Tone Infinim speakers with technology from Harman/Kardon as well as wireless charging capabilities.
Other features include a Smart Keyboard, Smart Notice (a sort of “lite” personal assistant), Knock Code (for unlocking the phone with taps), and Guest Mode, and it’ll be available in black, white, gold, moon violet, and burgundy red worldwide starting in South Korea on May 28th.
