LG G Pro Lite Phablet Boasts a Big 5.5-inch Display, Ho-Hum Specs
The LG G Pro Lite has a 1GHz dual-core processor (MT6577), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3G connectivity, dual SIM support, removable 3,140mAh battery, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Even the version of Android is somewhat dated, like most of the other specs, save for the display (though it's only 960x540, not Full HD 1080p) and large size battery. Presumably that's because LG won't be charging an arm and a leg for this device, though the press release left out any mention of cost.
"With LG G Pro Lite, we are introducing a competitive device to the masses in the growing large smartphone market," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "The market for smartphones with displays over five inches will continue to grow and LG is in a great position to capture these new customers when they’re ready to move up from their current phones."
The LG G Pro Lite will be available later this month in Latin America, followed by launches in Asia, Russia, China, India, and the Middle East.
