Lenovo Launches New ThinkCentre Desktops

Lenovo announced the new ThinkCentre A63 desktop for small to medium businesses as well as the new high-performance ThinkCentre M90 and M90p desktops. The ThinkCentre A63 comes with choices for the latest AMD Sempron, AMD Athlon II, or AMD Phenom II processors. The systems also feature Direct X10 integrated graphics support and support for dual independent displays. The system is available with up to a 500GB hard drive and up to 1333MHz DDR3 memory. The A63 also offers eight USB ports, an optional high-resolution webcam, and preloaded Skype application.

The ThinkCentre A63 is GREENGUARD certified, which means it has been tested for up to 2,000 different chemical emissions. This desktop has also been optimized to help save users time—in comparison to other Think PCs running Windows XP or Vista, the A63 boasts of a 57% faster boot time and five second shutdown times thanks to Enhanced Experience for Windows 7.

Lenovo offers a variety of warranty options for the ThinkCentre A63 desktop as well as an enhanced service plan called ThinkPlus Priority Support which provides 24x7 priority call routing to advanced technical support. The ThinkCentre A63 desktop starts at $329 and will be available in mid-January.

The ThinkCentre M90 and M90p are Lenovo’s first ThinkCentre desktops to feature the new 2010 Intel Core vPro family of processors. These desktops also reaffirm Lenovo's commitment to developing green PC products and include up to 42% post-consumer recycled content. The desktops are certified Energy Star 5.0 and have passed testing by GREENGUARD.

To assist IT managers, the ThinkCentre M90 and M90p feature Lenovo's Power Manager for remote energy monitoring, Lenovo Secure Managed Client 2.0, Lenovo’s Enhanced Experience for Windows 7 for quick boot and shutdown times, and Hardware Password Manager.

When paired with the Lenovo L2461x Wide monitor, the new M90 and M90p desktops also support multi-touch capabilities. The ThinkCentre M90 and M90p desktops offer Intel Core i5 and i7 processors with Intel Turbo Boost and Intel Hyper-Threading technologies.

The ThinkCentre M90 and M90p desktops will be available in February in tower, small form factor, and ultra small form factors. The ThinkCentre M90 desktop will start at $779, while the ThinkCentre M90p desktop starts at $899.
