Here's How To Grab Crackdown Free For Xbox One And Xbox 360

We love free games with no strings attached, and that's just what Microsoft has in store for Xbox One and even Xbox 360 gamers today. If you’re a fan of the popular Crackdown series of games, Microsoft is making the original Crackdown available for free today.

The game was originally released for the Xbox 360 platform, but thanks to the Backwards Compatibility program, Xbox One users can also acquire the game for free. And as an added bonus, Crackdown is one of a handful of Xbox 360 titles that has been remastered to take advantage of the 4K playback capabilities of the Xbox One X.

The original Crackdown debuted way back in 2007 and was a pretty big hit for the Xbox 360. Crackdown 2 arrived in 2010, but wasn't as well received as its predecessor. Back in early June, Microsoft announced that Crackdown 3 had been pushed back from its [already delayed] Spring 2018 release until early 2019 -- the game was originally supposed to launch with the Xbox One X back in November 2017.

In a way, these seems almost like an "apology" by Microsoft to Crackdown fans for delaying the release of Crackdown 3. If that is indeed the case, Microsoft, we forgive you. As of now, there is no indication of how long this free promotion will last, so we suggest that you grab it sooner rather than later.

In order to get Crackdown for free, head on over to the Xbox Store right now.
