Here Come Verizon's Data Tiers, But With Unlimited Still an Option
Here are the details:
- Two tiers for smartphone owners $15 for 150MB with $0.10 / MB overage, or $29.99 for unlimited access. Compare that to AT&T's 200MB at the $15 price point, or 2GB for $25; there is no unlimited option.
- As with Verizon Wireless' iPad + MiFi bundle, tablets will have $20, $35, $50 (and $80) tablet plans with 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, and 10GB data caps, respectively. All will have an overage fee of $10 / GB.
- Speaking of the MiFi, MiFi, FiveSpot, and integrated modem owners will have 5GB / $50 and 10GB / $80 tiers, with the MiFi and FiveSpot will also getting a 3GB / $35 tier during a 90-day promotion. All of these plans have overage fees of 1GB for $10.
- Feature phones will keep the current $1.99 "pay as you go" plan.) They will also have $15 for 150MB, or $29.99 for unlimited data tiers, with the old $9.99 / 25MB option vanishing.
- USB modem pricing stays at $39.99 for 250MB or $59.99 for 5GB.
