The assumption with Grand Theft Auto VI, arguably the most anticipated video game ever, is that it will eventually land on PC, though it could be a long wait. However, that may not actually be the case. While a Day-1 launch on PC is presumably out of the question—Rockstar would have announced it by now if that was the plan—GTA VI is reportedly bound for PC in early 2027, just a few months after launching on console in November 2026.
Will it actually happen, though? After all, Rockstar Games has a long tradition of making PC players wait for ports of its Grand Theft Auto games. For example, Grand Theft Auto V released to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles on September 17, 2013, followed by an enhanced release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2024, before finally hitting the PC on April 14, 2015, more than a year and a half after the original release.
The hype surrounding GTA VI is off the charts, however, so it is at least feasible that Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive would be keen on accelerating the timeline this go-round. And that is precisely the plan, according to GameBeat and the sources it spoke to.
Citing "four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans," the site reports that Rockstar intends on porting GTA VI to PC with the first three months of 2027.

Barring a last-minute delay, GTA VI will release to modern consoles on November 19, 2026. If the supposed industry sources are correct, a PC release could follow anywhere from less than 1.5 months later (early December) to four and a half months later (late March).
Either one would be a massive pivot compared to GTA V. To be fair, that installment in the mainline series skews the typical wait time, which is closer to 7-8 months for several releases before GTA V. Still, it's an accelerated timeline, if it holds true.
We're cautiously optimistic about the unconfirmed PC launch timing. Last September, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick highlighted the PC during an earnings call, saying the "PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time." Around the same time, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said he expects the streaming platform's viewership to rise even higher "next year when they [Rockstar Games] launch multiplayer" for GTA VI.
