Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Coming And Here’s What We Know So Far
The alleged leaks have been pieced together from a variety of websites. Many of the posts have since been deleted. A third-party developer who is reportedly connected to Sony posted several rumors on Pastebin, a text storage site. The developer claimed that GTA 6 will likely be available for the next generation of consoles. Rockstar has purportedly been working alongside Microsoft and Sony on “cloud gaming”. Rumor also has it that GTA 6 will first be available on the Playstation 5 before being available on other consoles.
Why would GTA 6 not be compatible with current consoles? The game will reportedly be far more ambitious than its predecessors. It will supposedly include an unprecedented amount of content that simply cannot be properly handled by current consoles. Cloud gaming will also be necessary for the supposed GTA 6 online mode. The developer noted that cloud gaming will help online mode to be a “continuous process”.
One leaker on Pastebin claimed that the upcoming game will include at least two familiar locations-- Liberty City and Vice City. Gamers may also get to play as a “drug lord” and control large swathes of territory. This rumor was also confirmed by a review on Glassdoor from a Rockstar employee. The employee’s review included an acrostic that spelled out “GTA6LSVCLC” or “Grand Theft Auto 6, Los Santos, Vice City, Liberty City”. If the rumors are true, Grand Theft Auto VI will certainly be larger than past GTA games. Past rumors have also suggested the Vice City will feature prominently in the game.
