Google Quickoffice Comes To Android and iPhone
For those Google Apps for Business users who still use Microsoft Office documents instead of Google’s similar cloud-based offerings, Google created Quickoffice for the iPad, which allows users to open, edit, and save Office documents to and from Drive. Now, the tool is available on the iPhone as well as Android devices, too.
Another new feature of Quickoffice is the ability to more easily locate files from within the app, including helpful organization into Starred, Recent, Shared With Me, and other folders. Quickoffice supports Word, Excel, and PowerPoint--including some older versions of those programs.
Quickoffice doesn’t come cheap, though; there is a free version for both iOS and Android platforms, but Quickoffice Pro and Quickoffice Pro HD for Android cost $14.99 and $19.99, respectively, and the Pro version for iOS is also $14.99.
