Google Pixel 2 XL Leaked Again Flaunting Dual Speakers And New Home Screen

We are just a couple of days away from Google's big devices event, which means that you can expect to see more leaks over the next 48 hours. The latest leak revolves around Google's upcoming Android 8.0 Oreo flagship, the Pixel 2 XL.

As is often the case when it comes to unreleased smartphones, this latest leak comes to us courtesy of Evan Blass (@evleaks). Blass posted two images of the Pixel 2 XL to Twitter, one with a case and one without. As you can clearly see in the images of the device, there are some largish bezels all around the 6-inch display. While the bezels are no doubt slimmer than we saw with last year's Pixel XL, they still appear larger than what you'd find on the Galaxy S8/Galaxy S8+ and Essential Phone.

Regardless of what you think about bezels, they do allow for Google to incorporates dual front-facing speakers on the device.

Other things that we can glean from the leaked renders include a redesigned home screen for the Pixel 2 XL (which will be shared with the smaller Pixel 2). The search bar has been relocated from the top of the screen down to the bottom, which should make it easier to access with your thumb. In addition, a new widget appears towards the top of the screen which details your next appointment while also providing quick access to your current weather.

Other features rumored for the Pixel 2 XL include a QHD resolution for the 6-inch display (which is covered in Gorilla Glass 5), Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 64GB and 12GB storage options, optical image stabilization for both the front and rear cameras, IP67 dust/water resistance, and a 3,520 mAh battery.

Google's keynote is scheduled for October 4th.
