Fujitsu And Red Hat Team Up...In The Cloud!

Red Hat, the company responsible for delivering Linux and a myriad other open source solutions, has today announced an expanded partnership with Fujitsu that extends the technology leaders' collaboration to the cloud. We're starting to hear more and more about the cloud these days, and it's not a surprise. As Internet connections become easier to find, companies are relying more and more on data stored on a remotely accessible server. Why carry around local files when you can keep them in the cloud, accessible by everyone, from anywhere? The infrastructure is sliding into place to support a cloud-driven world, and both Red Hat and Fujitsu have every intention on being on the cutting edge of that.

The two already have a long-term partnership, and building upon that they have made Red Hat Enterprise Linux available as a guest operating system on Fujitsu's “On-Demand Virtual System Service” public cloud. The combination of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fujitsu's enterprise-ready “On-Demand Virtual System Service” offers customers a powerful infrastructure for the cloud with proven Red Hat technologies and enterprise-class support from Fujitsu, backed by Red Hat. This obviously works out well for both companies; Fujitsu is able to provide yet another open source OS their customers, while Linux gets more exposure. A win-win, for sure.
