If you are chomping at the bit to get your hands and eyes on one of the new Windows Mixed Reality headsets for your PC, the time for pre-ordering is here. Microsoft announced before that Dell was a partner for the mixed reality headsets along with several other major PC manufacturers including Lenovo, Acer, and HP. Dell says that the Visor will ship on October 17 and will sell for $349.99 for the headset and $99.99 for the controllers. A bundle with both the Dell Visor and controllers kit will be offered for $449.99. The bundle will be offered at Dell.com, Microsoft.com, and Best Buy stores when it launches in October.

The Dell Visor promises 360-degree views with 2.89-inch 1440 x 1440 resolution displays for each eye and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Visor is weight-balanced and has an adjustable headband along with premium face cushions. Dell Visor controllers allow for smooth movement in VR and provide the wearer with heptic feedback.

Visor has a pair of B&W external cameras built in to view the room around you and cable management to guide the cable smoothly to keep it out of the way when in use. Adjusting the headset to fit the user is done with a thumbwheel that can fit any head size. Connectivity options include a HDMI 2.0 and a USB 3.0 along with a 3.5mm audio port. Tracking tech inside the Visor is 6DoF, inside-out racking with a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer.

Dell writes, "The Dell Visor is compatible with a number of PCs including Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptops and Inspiron Gaming Desktops and we are working with Microsoft to qualify additional Windows Mixed Reality Ultra PCs. If you are planning to pair your Dell Visor with an existing PC, Dell recommends a laptop or desktop that meets the Mixed Reality Ultra PC specifications."
