Corsair TWINX2048-4400PRO & Some News
Hello All! The weekend is drawing to a close, and while the rest of the world is watching football, I thought I'd post up some spy shots of some new RAM Corsair's got in the works and supply a healthy dose of news while I'm at it. First things first...
The pictures above are of a brand new 2GB memory kit that the good folks at Corsair are getting ready to release. The TWINX2048-4400PRO memory features Corsair's swank activity LEDs, and Infineon Rev. C chips. This 2GB kit is guaranteed to hit DDR550 speeds at 3-4-4-8 timings, and at DDR400 speeds will run at CAS 2. This memory kit will be ideal for overclockers who want to populate only 2 DIMM slots, but want 2GB of RAM and the ability to hit very high FSB speeds. As some of you may know, populating all 4 DIMM slots on many motherboards may force users to run with a 2T command rate, or at a lower frequency. By brining out high-speed 1GB per-stick, 2GB memory kits, Corsair aims to minimize this problem. Keep your eyes peeled for the worldwide release of this kit in the coming weeks. The full specifications aren't available just yet, but more info should be posted on Corsair's site soon.
LIFT your case off the floor and get more AIR in? @ Madshrimps:
"Most homes in the U.S. have carpeted floor; we all know too well most ATX tower cases anchored or sunken into the carpet with those tiny rubber pads called feet. Are you sick and tired of dragging your PC from under the desk out? How about letting in more outside air? $4 to get your rig higher on the rug in 5 minutes and get more air from your front panel for $1 in about 30 minutes."
Cooler Master Ammo 533 @ HardwareZone:
"Cooler Master's latest casing has a unique exterior that is sure to provoke discussions about its controversial aesthetics. With a carrying handle and a rugged shell, it seems like a perfect companion to LAN parties. Read on as we test if the Ammo 533 will be the choice for the gaming road warrior."
AMD's Fab 36 Grand Opening - 90nm & 300mm in Germany @ AnandTech <-- Interesting Stuff!
"After 24 months of construction, today AMD's first 300mm semiconductor fab, Fab 36, celebrates its grand opening. Built adjacent to AMD's 200mm Fab 30 in Dresden, Germany, Fab 36's grand opening takes place 6 years after Fab 30's introduction. The name Fab 36 comes from its existence 36 years after the founding of AMD."
That should be enough to keep you busy for a while! Make sure you check HH often this week. We've got lots of good stuff on tap, and with a little luck we may be introducing you all to yet another new member of the team. And this one doesn't have fur and walk on all fours...
