The device normally retails for $199, but going the "renewed" route saves you $100. In addition, Amazon is also throwing in a free Ring Chime as well (which itself is a $29 value).
The Video Doorbell 2 supports live 1080p video that you can view from anywhere with your smartphone or tablet using the Ring app. The app also allows you to get motion notifications when someone comes within the vicinity of your front (or back door), along with alerts when someone rings the doorbell. There is also two-way talk functionality that will allow you to use the Ring app to talk with someone at your front door if you don't feel like getting out of bed (or off the couch).
Given that Ring is now wholly owned by Amazon, there is of course Alexa support, allowing your Alexa-enabled speaker to call out when someone is at the door. Likewise, you can say "Alexa, show me the front door" and have a view of the outside pop-up on a device like the Echo Show 5. As for the Ring Chime, this unit serves as a speaker to announce when someone rings your doorbell if you don't want to hardwire the Video Doorbell 2 (and intend to rely solely on battery power).
If you're unfamiliar with Amazon's Certified Refurbished program, here's what the retailer says about its quality standards:
[Products] have been professionally inspected and tested to work and look like new by Amazon-qualified and performance-managed suppliers. The inspection and testing process typically includes a full diagnostic test, replacement of any defective parts, and a thorough cleaning process carried out by the supplier, or by Amazon. The products have no visible cosmetic imperfections when held 12 inches away. The products may be packaged in a generic box and come with the accessories expected for a new product, with exceptions, if any, mentioned on the product detail page.
