Call of Duty: WWII Leaks Reveal Screenshots, Retail Packaging And Release Date
One photo with an advertisement for the Xbox games states that the Call of Duty: WWII, “tells the story of the unbreakable brotherhood of common men fighting to preserve freedom in a world on the brink of tyranny”. Players will land on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and experience the war’s most iconic European battles.
The photos indicate that the game will offer three modes. “Campaign” mode will provide players with “bold, lifelike visuals and blockbuster cinematic authenticity that only Call of Duty can deliver”. Multiplayer will allow gamers and their friends to engage in a number of fast-paced battles and interact with the Call of Duty community. Co-operative mode “unleashes a new and original story” that offers gamers and their friends a “standalone game experience full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping moments”.
According to a photo from reddit user braderz_12, Call of Duty gamers will also be able sign-up to receive in-game loot such as “calling cards” and redeem codes for more awards. Gamers will also be informed of Double XP weekends and other in-game events. The photos indicate as well that gamers who pre-order Call of Duty: WWII will have access to a private pre-launch beta.
Although nothing is official, the photos show that Call of Duty: WWII will be released on November 3rd, 2017. No major battles happened on November 3rd during the Second World War, however, the date does mark the Norwegian seizure of a Nazi-captured American freighter in 1939, the Canadian clearance of the Breskens Pocket on the Scheldt Estuary in the Netherlands in 1944, and the Japanese release of 16,000 bomb-carrying balloons in 1944. Activision will release more about the game in their Worldwide Reveal livestream on Wednesday, April 26th at 10am PST.
