Battlefield fans will recall the rumor floating around back in January that the next game in the Battlefield franchise would launch in late 2018. The official title for the game has been confirmed as Battlefield V and the live reveal of the game will happen on May 23 at 1pm PT.

The unveil will be hosted by the Daily Show host Trevor Noah and will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, and via the Battlefield website. While we know the reveal is coming next week, we don’t really know much about the game. EA Dice has offered some teaser details on the official Battlefield website and Noah will offer details on the game, setting, and more.

What we do know is that this will be a brand-new experience for gamers with EA Dice promising unexpected theaters of war with every fight different than what we are used to. A new setting is tipped with rumors pointing to a WWII setting. The unveil event next week will also feature some of the dev team behind the game including "DICE team members Oskar Gabrielson, the head of DICE Stockholm, Andreas Morell, senior producer, Lars Gustavsson, creative director, and Daniel Berlin, design director, as they fill you in on their Battlefield V vision."

Large-scale multiplayer action is to be included with EA Dice promising the new game "takes it to the next level." There will be multiplayer with multiple maps and modes. Devs promise "unmatched sights and sounds" with "stunning" environments. New modes and experiences are promised with a tease stating, "A player-favorite from Battlefield 1, Operations have given you the chance to take epic journeys across several maps. Will this teamplay-focused experience be in the next Battlefield? You’ll know if you watch the live reveal!"

Battlefield V promises gameplay changes for the franchise and the return of War Stories. DICE says that both multiplayer and single player are important to the new game and that answers to the Battlefield Easter Egg chase will also be offered up.
