AT&T Throws No-Contract Phone Users a Bone with Cheaper Mobile Share Value Plans
Customers who go this route effectively save $15 per month. Plans start at $45 per month for unlimited talk and text plus 300MB of data. Where it gets interesting is that qualifying smartphones can be added to any Mobile Share Value plan for a flat rate of $25 per month, or $10 per tablet. For contract customers, AT&T is switching from a sliding scale to a flat rate of $40 per device, which is where the $15 monthly savings comes from.

"With our new Mobile Share Value Plans, customers don’t have to compromise," said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility. "Our new no contract option lets customers add a smartphone to the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network at a lower monthly cost. Customers want great value and a premium network - and now they can save more and get unlimited talk, text and data to share."
In addition, AT&T said it's adding a new AT&T Next plan with an 18 month upgrade option. It will be available to customers for up to four smartphones, and to select small business customers who will be allowed to provide employees with up to the six company-owned phones.
All of these new happenings will kick off on December 8.
