ASUS ZenFone Selfie Captures Your Raging Duckface In 13MP Glory
It seems as though you can never take too many selfies, and if Facebook is any indication, the trend is sure to live on for years to come. While most selfies these days are taken with relatively low resolution front-facing cameras on iPhones and their ilk (the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus feature a 1.2MP front camera), many manufactures are catering to the selfie crowd with higher quality front cameras.
ASUS is the latest to step into the fray with its new ZenFone Selfie, and as its name implies, this smartphone will capture every wrinkle in your grinning mug. The ZenFone Selfie features not one, but two 13MP cameras (one for rear, and of course one for the front). The front camera features a wide-angle f/2.2 lens, 88-degree view-of-field, and a “Selfie Panorama” mode. As ASUS describes it, “Selfie Panorama mode enabled, selfies become a party with all friends included — plus the ability to capture panoramic scenery for stunning backdrops.”
The rear camera has an f/2.0 lens with laser autofocus. Interestingly, both the front and rear cameras come with dual LED Real Tone flash to help enhance your pictures when you’re attempting to take a drunk selfie in the dark, seedy bar down the street.
The rest of the ZenFone Selfie’s specs are pretty much run-of-the-mill for a mid-range phone including a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display (403ppi) that is covered with Gorilla Glass 4 and an octa-core, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any information on pricing and availability, so you’ll have to wait your turn to get your hands on the latest entry into the “Selfie Phone” market.
