Sony's Love For Selfies Explodes With Mediatek-Powered Xperia C4
Sony calls the Xperia C4 its next generation "PROselfie" handset, a claim it backs with a "best in class 5MP front camera." When you snap a photo of yourself using the Xperia C4, you'll be doing so with a 28mm wide-angle lens and Sony Exmor R mobile sensor. The front shooter also boasts a soft LED flash, HDR features, and SteadyShot technology (optical image stabilization) to compensate for camera shake -- that thing you get from downing a gallon of coffee from Starbucks.
On the other side of the handset is a 13MP camera with autofocus and HDR, so non-selfie photography should be pretty decent as well (on paper anyway -- we haven't actually played with the Xperia C4 yet).
Beyond the cameras, Sony's Xperia C4 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080) IPS display powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and 2GB of RAM. It also has 16GB of built-in storage + microSD card slot, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, aGPS, 2,600 mAh battery, and Google Android 5.0 Lollipop.
"Xperia C4 caters to consumers that want a smartphone that not only takes great photos, but also packs a punch. Benefiting from Sony’s camera expertise, the 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens lets you capture perfect selfies, while its quality display and performance features provide an all-round advanced smartphone experience," said Tony McNulty, Vice President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications.
The Xperia C4 will be available in single SIM and dual SIM form in select markets starting in June.
