ASUS Launches ZenFone 4 Family In US With Snapdragon SoCs And Dual Rear Cameras
ASUS has announced the launch of a new family of smartphones in the U.S., and all of the devices have dual rear cameras promising to shoot optimum pictures in just about any setting. The ZenFone 4 family includes the ZenFone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4, and ZenFone 4 Max (in two display sizes). The ZenFone 4 Pro has a 5.5-inch display and the dual rear camera system uses a Sony IMX362 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The 16MP camera system has 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom.
The cameras use ASUS SuperPixel Engine that increases captured light by 8x and feature optical image stabilization. The SoC under the hood is a Snapdragon 835, while a fast Snapdragon X16 LTE modem can transfer data at up to 600Mbps.
ASUS ZenFone 4
A fingerprint sensor is integrated into the home button and uses an infrared optical sensor to detect blood flow to make it more secure. The smartphone is offered in Pure Black and is available right now for $599 direct from ASUS and in retail outlets like Best Buy.
The ZenFone 4 is a 5.5-inch smartphone featuring a dual camera system with a Sony IMX362 image sensor, f/1.8 aperture and a 120-degree wide angel lens. We do know that it runs a Snapdragon 630 chipset and gets power from a 3300 mAh internal battery. ASUS BoostMaster fast-charge tech is integrated for faster charging. It has 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 508 GPU promising 30% faster graphics. The smartphone is offered in Midnight Black and Moonlight White, with both colors available now in retail stores and online for $399.
ASUS ZenFone Max 5.5
The ZenFone 4 Max is offered in 5.5-inch and 5.2-inch sizes and features a 13MP main camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens. The ZC554KL is the 5.5-inch versions and uses a 5000 mAh internal battery with ASUS PowerMaster tech for 46 days of 4G standby time. The 5.2-inch version is the ZC520KL packing in a 4100 mAh battery for up to 37 days standby time. Both smartphones are able to double as a portable charging device for other gadgets when using a USB OTG cable that is sold separately.
The larger ZenFone Max uses a Snapdragon 430 chipset, while the smaller uses the Snapdragon 425. GPUs are Adreno 505 and 308 respectively. The ZenFone 4 Max 5.5-inch sells for $199 while the ZenFone 4 Max 5.2-inch is selling for $169. Both are available now.
