NVIDIA announced the first round of RTX Studio certified laptops back in late May, and they came loaded with GeForce RTX or Quadro RTX GPUs, dedicated graphics drivers and other specialized software. In late July, NVIDIA announced that 10 new RTX Studio laptops had been added to the mix, bringing the total number available to 27.

Today, ASUS is announcing the most powerful RTX Studio notebook to date in the form of the ProArt StudioBook One. It is the flagship of ASUS' laptop family aimed at creative professional and features a 15.6-inch display with a 120Hz 4K UHD (3840x2160) display with an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display is covered in Gorilla Glass 5, features an anti-glare coating, and cover 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color space (97 percent DCI-P3).

More importantly, that display is backed by some seriously powerful hardware; namely the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000. This is the most powerful mobile GPU available in a production laptop and the ProArt StudioBook One is the first to use it. The Quadro RTX 6000 has 4,608 CUDA cores, 576 Tensor cores, 72 RT cores, 24GB of RAM and can deliver 16.3 TFLOPs FP32 performance.

Also backing the ProArt StudioBook One are 9th generation Intel Core processors, up to a Core i9-9980HK (2.4GHz base, 5GHz boost), paired with up to 64GB of RAM. Given all of the high-performance hardware under the hood, the notebook features a titanium alloy module (which houses the GPU, CPU and cooling hardware) that can automatically tilt 4.57 degrees to generate more airflow to cool the components.

“RTX Studio mobile workstations deliver cutting-edge features that provide powerhouse performance in a thin, portable format,” said Bob Pette, vice president of Professional Visualization at NVIDIA. “Creatives and other pros using mobile platforms powered by the Quadro RTX 6000 can harness the advanced features and performance of RTX to work on their most demanding projects from anywhere they choose.”

Not to be outdone, ASUS is also talking up the ProArt StudioBook Pro X, which is equipped with a secondary display. Not only does it feature a 17-inch Full HD NanoEdge display, but it also includes an optional ScreenPad 2.0. The touch display is designed to integrate with your workflow with a smartphone-centric UI.

The ProArt StudioBook Pro X is powered by either Core i7, Core i9 or Xeon processors along with up to a Quadro RTX 5000 with 16GB of RAM. Up to 128GB of RAM is supported along with up to 6TB of internal storage (1 SSD, 2 HDDs). The ProArt StudioBook Pro X also includes support for the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard.

At this time, pricing and availability has not been announced for ASUS' new ProArt laptops.
