ASUS ZenBook 13, 14, And 15 Feature Ultra-Thin NanoEdge Bezels And 8th Gen Intel Core CPUs
ASUS has announced the launch of three all-new ZenBook notebooks: the ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14, and ZenBook 15. The machines share many of the same slick features with the most notable being a very thin profile, and screens with thin bezels. ASUS says that the machines all have a 95% screen-to-body ratio thanks to NanoEdge displays for near-borderless visuals. These machines all claim to have the world's smallest footprint in their respective classes.
The 13-inch and 14-inch ZenBooks also have a cool NumberPad that crams a full-size LED-illuminated number keypad into the touchpad. The ZenBook 15 has a full-size standard number pad. The lack of a number pad is something that bothers folks about small notebooks when it comes to entering lots of numbers. The entire trio of new ZenBook models has 3D IR cameras that support Windows Hello facial logins, even in low-light environments.
The range of new models has the latest 8th gen Intel Core i7 quad-core processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics. ASUS will also cram up to 16GB of RAM inside the machines and fast PCIe SSDs for storage along with Gigabit-class WiFi connectivity. The chassis of all thee machines is spun-metal on the lid and come in silver, or royal blue with a contrasting rose gold trim bar above the keyboard that looks very Apple-like. Integrated voice recognition technology allows the ZenBook to support Alexa or Cortana thanks to the new Microsoft and Amazon Alexa and Cortana integration.
Connectivity options include USB Type-C ports, USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, USB Type-A ports, and USB 2.0 ports on some models. All the notebooks in the range get an HDMI port and microSD or SD card
On the graphics front, the ZenBook 15 gets GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics while the 13 and 14 models get up to a GeForce MX 150 discrete GPU. RAM on all versions is 16GB and Bluetooth 5.0 is integrated on all. Battery life on the ZenBook 13 promises up to 13 hours, ZenBook 14 promises 14 hours, and ZenBook 15 promises 16 hours of battery life per charge. All three models will land in North America in the first half of October with pricing announced closer to launch.
