Asus Intros K Series Entertainment Notebooks
Hot on the heels of Asus' P30A introduction comes this, the K Series Domino Collection. Armed with a lengthy name and a knack for hitting the multimedia sweet spot, this new line contains the K40IJ and K40IN, both of which get powered by a Core 2 Duo T6400 or Core 2 Duo T4200 processor (or an AMD chip, if that's your thing) and come loaded with Windows Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium or Linux.
The line also includes Altec Lansing speakers with SRS Premium Sound, a high definition LCD panel up to 17.3" in size and graphics solutions from both NVIDIA and AMD (your choice, obviously). Furthermore, it boasts the company's Super Hybrid Engine for unplugged freedom, while a clever IceCool design ensures the temperature at the palm rest area is kept to a minimum, even after long computing hours. There's no mention of a price or release date, but we're pretty excited about what Asus is offering here. Nice battery life in a big computer, and a reasonable amount of power for those needing to push pixels without indulging in all-night Crysis matches.
