Apple Boot Camp Now Vista Compatible
Apple has updated Boot Camp Beta to support 32-bit versions of Windows Vista. Keep in mind that this is a beta version and not a polished retail product so be wary of using it for anything that is absolutely critical to you or your business. If you're running Apple hardware and want to add a Vista boot option, check it out here.
Boot Camp 1.2 beta includes:
- Support for Windows Vista (32-bit)
- Updated drivers, including but not limited to trackpad, AppleTime (synch), audio, graphics, modem, iSight camera
- Support the Apple Remote (works with iTunes and Windows Media Player)
- A Windows system tray icon for easy access to Boot Camp information and actions
- Improved keyboard support for Korean, Chinese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Russian, and French Canadian
- Improved Windows driver installation experience
- Updated documentation and Boot Camp on-line help in Windows
- Apple Software Update (for Windows XP and Vista)
While Boot Camp is certainly a nifty idea for Mac owners, what many are waiting for is a way to add an OS X boot to their Vista and XP machines.
