Amazon Expands ‘Prime Now’ One-Hour Delivery To Miami And Baltimore

Tens of millions of members around the world enjoy Amazon's Prime membership service, though comparatively few have access to Prime Now, the online retailer's one-hour delivery program that's exclusive to Prime subscribers. Little by little Prime Now is expanding into new areas, the most recent of which include select ZIP codes in Miami and Baltimore.

There are 10 ZIP codes in Miami and 25 in Baltimore that Prime Now is available immediately, and Amazon says it will expand service to additional ZIP codes within each city soon. Those who do have access to Prime Now can order in-stock items and have them delivered in one hour or less for $7.99, or for free if selecting two-hour delivery. Prime Now is available from 8 AM to 10 PM.

Amazon Prime Now

"Customers in Manhattan and Brooklyn love Prime Now—it means you can skip a trip to the store and get the items you need delivered right to your door in under an hour," said Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations. "Since launching, we’ve seen high demand on everything from essentials like water and paper towels to more surprising deliveries like getting a customer a hard-to-find, top-selling toy in 23 minutes—we are excited to continue delivering to customers in record-breaking time."

The Prime Now app is available for iOS and Android. All Prime members can download the app regardless of location, and you can choose to be notified when/if Prime Now becomes available in your area.

Other than the shipping fee for one-hour deliveries, there's no additional charge for Prime members to use Prime Now. This underscores one of the great things about Amazon's Prime service -- it continually gets better with additional benefits that easily help justify its $99 annual fee.
