When the moment is right, will you be ready? Well, Amazon sure hopes so, which is why the e-tail giant is greatly expanding its lineup of Dash Buttons that are meant to make reordering household items dead simple (while also keeping you firmly entrenched in the Amazon ecosystem). According to Amazon, orders placed using Dash Buttons have increased by 75 percent in the past three months and that pace is sure to quicken thanks to today’s announcement.

Amazon has revealed that it is adding dozens of new brands of the Dash lineup including Energizer, Trojan, Snuggle, Red Bull, Lysol, Nature Valley and Charmin. So no matter if you’re running low on batteries, condoms or fabric softener, Dash Buttons should have you covered with free Amazon Prime 2-day delivery.

"We’re thrilled with the positive response we’ve seen for Dash Buttons—and we heard loud and clear from customers that they wanted more brands, more categories, and more products in the program,” said Amazon Dash Director Daniel Rausch. “We’re excited to now offer over 100 Dash Buttons representing top-name brands across dozens of retail categories and thousands of product options.”

Dash Buttons connect to your home Wi-Fi network and will reorder everyday consumables at the press of a button. Dash has become so convenient and popular with customers that orders using the buttons occur at a rate of just over one per minute.

In case you didn’t already realize, you must be a member of Amazon Prime to order Dash Buttons. Each Dash Button is priced at $4.99, however, you could effectively say that the price is free since you’ll receive a $4.99 credit (per Dash button) for your first order from a particular brand.

And in case you were wondering, you’ll receive a notification by email whenever your Dash Button is pressed to reorder an item, and you can easily make changes. So if you kids [deliberately] press a Dash Button to gorge on an incoming supply of Slim Jims, or if your dog “accidentally” put his or her paws on the Purina Dash Button, you’ll be able to swat down the order with ease.
