Acer's 20-inch Veriton Z Series All-in-Ones are Easy to Service, Start at $539

With just a handful of exceptions, all-in-one (AIO) systems aren't exactly known for being easy to service and/or upgrade. We've seen a few AIOs that buck the unfortunate anti-DIY trend, and it appears Acer's new Veriton Z Series 20-inch class AIOs will fall into the user-friendly category as well. Acer's new AIOs feature a screw-less chassis design and modular components for easy maintenance and upgrades, the OEM says.

There are two models, both offering consumers a choice of either Windows 8 Pro or Windows 7 Professional. The Acer Veriton Z2640G-UC1007X sports an Intel Celeron 1007U processor (1.5GHz, dual-core, 2MB cache) and 2GB of DDR3 memory (expandable to 16GB), while the Veriton Z2640G-UP2117X kicks it up a notch with an Intel Pentium 2117U processor (1.8GHz, dual-core, 2MB cache) and 4GB of DDR3 RAM (also upgradeable to 16GB).

Both systems make use of a 19.5-inch HD anti-glare LED backlit LCD (1600x900), two USB 2.0 ports, a single USB 3.0 port, HDMI input, 500GB hard drive (7200 RPM) two speakers, and a microphone.

"We're confident that both end-users and IT professionals will appreciate the flexibility, security and management benefits of this new 20-inch class AIO," said Michael O'Beirne, Acer senior director, commercial product marketing. "Workers will enjoy the space savings and highly adjustable webcam and chassis, while IT will be pleased with the easy maintenance, strong security and great price. This platform is an excellent choice for any professional environment focused on space savings and collaboration, including financial institutions, government agencies and education."

The two Veriton systems are available now through value-added resellers starting at $539 for the Celeron system and $599 for the Pentium setup.
