2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Has 650HP And Looks Amazing Doing It

If you've got the cash, and are looking to make a splash, then you are in luck. Chevrolet has unveiled the new 2015 Corvette Z06 and it looks amazing.

Replacing the previous generation of ZR1s, the new Z06 is Chevy’s most powerful version in the car’s history. It has a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, making it more powerful than the Jaguar F-Type R, the Dodge SRT Viper, and the Porsche 911 Carrera S. It's not quite as powerful as the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat but we're talking ridiculous power here, regardless.

But if you are worried about how this little beauty can handle the curves, Chevy has got you covered. The Corvette Z06 features Magnetic Selective Ride Control dampers and a 20 percent stiffer aluminum frame along with advanced traction and stability control systems to help manage those corners.

So how much is it going to cost you? Compared to the Dodge SRT Viper ($102,485 - 640HP), Jaguar F-Type R ($99,000 – 550HP), and the Porsche 911 Carrera S ($97,350 – 400HP) the Corvette Z06 will cost you $78,995 for the coupe and $83,995 for the convertible version.

Chevy will also offer several packages that will add carbon fiber components to make the car light and improve its handling such as the Carbon Fiber Ground Effects package, for $2,995, which will add a functional carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber rocker panels, and a larger rear spoiler.
