MSI Introduces VX600 Multimedia Notebook
Frankly, it's getting difficult to even keep track of all the new
notebooks coming from the assembly lines at MSI. After introducing a
new crop at CeBIT last week, the company has issued today the VX600, a
bargain-minded machine that aims to provide decent everyday performance
and enough power to handle the occasional multimedia duty. In order to
keep the battery humming along as long as possible, the VX600 is also
equipped with MSI's exclusive ECO Engine, a power saving management
function that looks to extend battery life whenever possible.
The 15.4" machine includes a 1280 x 800 resolution panel, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, internal microphone, 4-in-1 card reader, four USB 2.0 connectors, full size keyboard, a Core 2 Duo Intel processor and ATI's own HD3410 graphics with 512MB of DDR2 VRAM. As part of the ECO functionality, MSI has also included a Quick Launch Touch Sensor to easily switched among the five different modes: Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office and Turbo Modes. Other specifications include Windows Vista Home Premium, 4GB of DDR2 RAM spread across two SO-DIMM slots, Gigabit Ethernet, a Super Multi DVD burner, 802.11b/g WiFi, stereo speakers and your choice of a six or nine cell battery. The full detailed list is below, but unfortunately MSI hasn't passed along any pricing or release information.
