Ice Cream Sandwich And Nexus Prime Event Rescheduled For October 19

Last week, we told you that Google and Samsung were postponing an event out of respect for Steve Job's recent passing. Now, the two companies are ready to reschedule this event. On October 19, Samsung and Google are expected to reveal the Nexus Prime smartphone and Google's latest version of Android known as Ice Cream Sandwich. The October 19 event will take place in Hong Kong.

Samsung said it plans to reveal a new smartphone that will run on the latest version of Android at the event. Although Samsung didn't disclose the name of the phone, the company released the following statement, "We are unpacking our new Android phone in concurrence with Google."

The Google/Samsung Hong Kong event is scheduled for 10am local time on October 19 which means it will take place at 10pm EST October 18 for those of us in the US. The event will be streamed live on YouTube for anyone who can't make it to Hong Kong.

Although neither Ice Cream Sandwich nor the Nexus Prime has officially been revealed, videos have leaked that give us a sneak peek at what we can expect.
