Asus Debuts Stylish U Series Notebook Lineup
If you prefer to ingest your notebook news in bite-sized pieces, you won't enjoy the feast that Asus just laid out one bit. Answering MSI's ultra-sleek X-Slim family is Asus' U Series, a rather attractive line of new machines aimed to be lightweight and highly fashionable, not to mention useful. In Asus' words, these provide both form and function, not one or the other.
The lineup includes no fewer than seven machines, all of which are powered by Intel's Core 2 Duo or Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) processors. You'll also find LED-backlit widescreen displays, NVIDIA GPUs, Altec Lansing speakers featuring SRS Premium Sound and the company's Express Gate instant-on operating system. Finally, Asus has included a light-sensing display that automatically adjusts brightness depending on ambient light, and there's even a backlit keyboard to keep your thesis going after hours.
