Active Media Debuts SSD Upgrades For Eee PCs
It's hard to think "netbook" without thinking "Eee PC," so it's
understandable why so many SSD upgrade solutions are tailor made for
Asus' heralded netbook line. Just a half-year after Super Talent
introduced a slew of SSD upgrades for the company's S101, Active Media
Products has pushed out a line of its own to beef up a wider range of
Eee PCs.
The new SaberTooth family is built with MLC NAND chips and have been tested to function perfectly with the Eee PC S101, 900, 900A and 901. As expected, the line will be offered in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities (SaberTooth SS), and Active Media claims that these are the fastest solid state drives available for the line of netbooks, supporting sequential read speeds up to 155 MB/sec and write speeds up to 100 MB/sec. If you're looking to save a few bucks at the expense of speed, the SaberTooth S line will include 16GB and 32GB editions, both of which boast sequential read speeds up to 90 MB/sec and write speeds up to 55 MB/sec.
