When ASUS released the ZenFone 2 Laser, the company’s goal was to offer a premium smartphone experience with strong camera performance at an affordable price. On the surface the ZenFone 2 Laser has many of the key features of a premium phone, including an octa-core SoC with Adreno graphics, dual active SIM capabilities, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel camera, and a removable battery. The rate at which the industry is pumping out smartphones these days is staggering. Even more impressive is the rate at which truly outstanding phones are shipping, even from names that weren't significant just a few years ago. BLU, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and ASUS (just to name a few) have all produced handsets in recent months that rival the best offerings from Apple, LG, Samsung, and other historical greats. ASUS’ red hot ZenFone 2 is about to make its big U.S. debut, and we can hardly wait. More specifically, the ZenFone 2 will launch tomorrow in two variants, both of which will be come from the factory unlocked. The cheaper model will come standard with a 1.83GHz Intel Atom Z3560 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage for $199. ASUS is making its presence known at CES this year, and in doing so is unleashing the new Transformer Book Chi Series. The 2-in-1 detachable laptops range in size from 8.9” to 12.5” and can be equipped with screens featuring a resolution of up to WQHD (2560x1440). The smallest member of the family is the T90 Chi, which comes with an 8.9-inch WXGA (1280x800) IPS display. Powering the device is a quad-core Intel Atom Z3775 processor, and the T90 Chi can be equipped with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
