Blizzard has kept one of its classic games, Warcraft III, going for a long time. In fact, it was still updating the game last year, 15-years after it launched, to keep fans happy. Blizzard has announced that it will be remastering Warcraft III, dubbing the game Warcraft III: Reforged and updating it with glorious 4K resolution graphics to take advantage of modern displays and hardware. Blizzard says that the game will integrate "cutting-edge modeling and rendering" and that every hero, unit, building, and environment in the game has been rebuilt from the ground up. The remastered game will allow players to relive the events that happened in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne....

Before World of Warcraft (WoW), the massively successful MMORPG game, there was Warcraft III. Warcraft III is a game with events set before the events in WoW happened, and has been around for 15 years. Most games that have been around even a fraction of that time are left stale and stagnant with little or no developer support. That lack of dev support typically means no updates, any bugs remain unsquashed, and you certainly don't get any new maps or map updates. That's not how Blizzard rolls and after a decade and a half of availability, Blizzard has added a bunch of overall improvements and new features to Warcraft III.
