When Microsoft first announced the Surface Studio all-in-one desktop back in late October 2016, we were amazed by its sleek design and zero-gravity hinge. However, it was an accessory for the PC that especially caught our attention: the Surface Dial. The Surface Dial is a radial input device that can be placed directly on the display and sprouts out a menu that can be used to adjust colors and ink thickness (among other things) in supported apps. Microsoft has now announced that all of the Surface Dial goodness is being added to the Surface Pro 4 courtesy of a new firmware update.... Read more...
The takeaways from two separate keynotes from Apple and Microsoft last month couldn’t have been any more different. Microsoft unveiled the 28-inch Surface Studio all-in-one and wowed those in the tech community with its articulating display and Surface Dial input accessory. Apple, on the other hand, drew scorn for its new MacBook Pro family, which the press (and even those in the Mac community) felt missed the mark. The backlash was so strong, in fact, the even Apple’s Phil Schiller was somewhat surprised. Are we now living in a world where Microsoft is being seen as the innovator, while Apple... Read more...

Microsoft wowed tech enthusiasts with its 28-inch content creation machine that comes standard with an innovative Surface Dial accessory that allows you to invoke menus and controls in your favorite applications. Today at the Adobe MAX conference, Dell teased its own content creation system, and it looks rather fascinating with its dual displays. There’s a primary display that you might find in any typical all-in-one machine, but there’s also a secondary... Read more...
It’s been rumored for months that Microsoft would be unveiling a new Windows 10-powered all-in-one flagship. We’ve seen patent drawings, have covered specs leaks, and have gotten a few hints from Microsoft. Well, Microsoft's ever-exuberant Panos Panay today announced what we’ve all been waiting for: the Surface Studio. The forged aluminum Surface Studio is a gorgeous all-in-one that features a 28-inch PixelSense touch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 192 pixels per inch over a 4500x3000 resolution (or a little under 5K). According to Panay, this is the thinnest LCD display ever built at just... Read more...
