Waymo, a division of Google's parent company Alphabet, continues to accelerate its self-driving car efforts by racking up millions of miles on public roads. The official tally now stands at 4 million miles, of which 1 million of those were accumulated in the past six months alone. While Google and other companies work to improve autonomous vehicle technologies, legislatures and lawmakers are busy adopting rules and regulations to ensure that testing self-driving cars is a safe endeavor. It would appear that one of Google's self-driving cars was involved in an accident that's not the fault of the other driver, tarnishing what's been a blame-free driving record up to this point. Based on a police report posted to California's Department of Motor Vehicles, the incident involved one of Google's Lexus models and a public bus.The report states that Google's vehicle was traveling in autonomous mode headed east in the far right lane on El Camino Real in Mountain View.
