AMD just released its 2nd Gen Ryzen processors based on Zen+, with the range-topping, flagship model being the Ryzen 7 2700X. However, Senior Vice President Jim Anderson is hinting that a faster chip, the Ryzen 7 2800X, will become the new flagship of the mainstream Ryzen family later this year. It's no secret that Intel is preparing to unleash an 8-core Coffee Lake-S processor for enthusiasts, likely sometime this summer or in the fall. The processor would sit above the current 6-core Coffee Lake-S processors, yet below Intel's mega-core HEDT family. Unfortunately, while the below specs definitely had folks in the enthusiast community excited, it appears that the leaked slide that was source of information regarding the Ryzen 7 2700, 2800 and 2800X is a hoax. The original reddit thread that was the source for specs that surfaced here originally, and have since found new life recently. We will, however, leave our original story, intact, below...
