A shortened version of AMD's Radeon RX Vega becomes more real by the day. Not that the Radeon RX Vega Nano was ever fake—AMD's senior director of global marketing PR, Chris Hook, briefly teased the card at SIGGRAPH 2017—it just has not been released, or even officially announced. It does show up from time to time, however, making its most recent appearance at AMD's Ryzen 2000 series launch event in Munich. In another four months, it will be a full year since AMD launched its first Radeon RX Vega graphics cards to consumers. Thanks to a combination of cryptocurrency miners ravaging the GPU market and a memory chip shortage, graphics cards have been tough to come by. Hopefully that will change soon. Despite the unusual landscape, manufacturers have not been shy about releasing new models. ASRock, for example, recently announced a line of Radeon cards for gamers. AMD has been slow playing the launch of its next generation processors and graphics cards. The marketing strategy has created a ton of hype surrounding Ryzen, Threadripper, and Vega, and just when it seemed like there was nothing else to tease, AMD decided to pass around a Radeon RX Vega Nano graphics card for small form factor systems. One of the best images of the pint-sized graphics card shows AMD's Chris Hook, a senior director of global marketing PR for the company, excitedly holding the card up.
