Recently, Jay Sullivan at Mozilla told the BBC that Mozilla's upcoming mobile web browser codenamed Fennec is just "days away" from being launched. The browser will initially be available for Nokia's N900 phone followed by other handsets. Sullivan further explained that the browser is currently going through final testing and could be released before the end of the year. The mobile browser has been in the works for the past year and a half. It has been quite some time since Nokia issued a smartphone that was reasonably competitive with the slew of Android handsets on the market, Apple's iPhone and Palm's Pre. We've always considered ourselves fans of Nokia devices. In fact, we're not even ashamed to admit that we used one of those Nokia candybars back in the day (you know, one with 'Snake'), and we'd probably still use it today if not for things like "web browsing" and "Twitter." As times have changed, so have the engineering efforts at Nokia. The company's newest smartphone/mini computer is the N900, and with that device will come an all new mobile operating system to rival Google's Android, Palm's webOS and Apple's iPhone OS.
