Hey folks, it's hard to believe that the new year is upon us.  2004 has flown by in my opinion, with a lot of changes in my life occurring.  I hope 2005 will be a good one, with a few goals set, it could be.  I'm not big on the whole "resolution" thing, but there is that sense of a clean slate, starting fresh.  I have to say, I always get a bit of a chuckle this time of year when you suddenly start seeing more joggers than usual on the road.  I guess getting in shape is the most popular resolution out there.  Well, I'm running a little slow today, woke up with no coffee in the house.  So let's get the news going so I can go get my java! Good to see you again friends :)  With the world of work starting back up for me again this morning, I do not have a huge amount of time to chit-chat.  However, I do have enough to fire up another round of linkage.  Enjoy your day, I will "see" you back here later this evening...  SilverStonetek SST-FP54 Review @ ExtensionTech.net "You'd perhaps think that this parallel powered VFD was late into the market. And well, perhaps it is...But seeing that you can't buy too many printers these days that use the parallel port anymore, that leaves potential for all those free printer ports doesn't it? This parallel (2x16) character VFD from SilverStone, with its beveled,... Read more...
Good morning all :)  Last night I decided that I should hit up the local shopping mall in hopes of finishing up the last of my Xmas shopping.  Thankfully I was able to get in and out in a short period of time.  I don't like crowds to begin with, but, there is nothing worse then a large crowd of people in the "Christmas sprit" shopping... *shudder* ;) Go grab a mug and pull up a chair.  Here is your first shot of juice for the day...  OCZ ModStream Power Supply Roundup @ CoolTechZone "There is a new trend that recently emerged in the world of power supplies, the wireless trend. I just received a ASUS A7N8X-X, and after looking around in the bios, it has some pretty decent features. After building a few systems using variants of the A7N8X, I've come to really like the brand. The NF7 series from ABit is also one of my top choices for Athlon XP systems. I'm going to miss the times I've spent working with Athlon XP systems, but once I get my Athlon 64, I'm sure all that will change :) AVerMedia AVerTV USB 2.0 Plus @ HEXUS.net "Almost everything about the device is easy to use and set-up, which generally speaking makes it a joy to use. My biggest concern prior to testing the device was that such a small component would struggle to provide a good quality picture and... Read more...
Well I didn't wake up to snow like Jay, but there's a nice coating of it now. I'm stuck in the house until the plows can clear things up, but it's not so bad since I picked up Metroid Prime 2 yesterday... for anyone who hasn't played it but likes Metroid... buy it! Seriously, this game is awesome! I do have to pull myself away from it sometimes, like now... so let's get on with the news so I can get back to my game ;) LTB USB True 5.1 Surround Sound Headphone Review @ 3DX "While this headset may not be the cheapest on the market, if you are a serious gamer price may not be a huge consideration. For positional awareness in gaming the LTB USB-M headset just flat out rocks. I play alot of Call... Read more...

More and more homes these days contain multiple PCs, and in this age of increasingly common broadband connections it's a no-brainer to want to connect these machines together over a WLAN, or Wireless LAN.  Doing so will allow you to share files and the broadband connection so that everyone can surf the web smoothly.  For sometime now, users have been trucking along at 11 Mbps and 54 Mbps using 802.11b and 802.11g components such as routers, PCI cards, etc. But, as with everything else built into, installed on, or just connected to a PC, there's always room for improvement, and this usually means doing something faster.  That's what X-Micro intends to do with today's showcase... Good afternoon folks.  We have to apologize for the delay in news this morning.  We had some gremlins acting up on the server earlier that gave us some unscheduled downtime.  But now we're back and we've got some good reading to get you through your day. LeadTek WinFast A400 Ultra/GT TDH 6800 Review @ Beyond3D: "At a glance, the only noticeable difference between the two boards is the additional Molex connector visible on the 6800 Ultra-based card - aside from that, both boards use the same, near-silent two slot cooling solution. Despite its 'monster cooling' look, the fan noise from these boards is indeed reasonably quiet, and certainly not noticeably loud over the rest of... Read more...
