SZ DJI Technology Co Ltd., the world largest producer of consumer drones, recently discovered several cases of fraud within their own company. The Chinese technology company may lose more than $150 million USD (1 billion CN¥) due to the corruption. DJI is currently investigating the cases and have already contacted law enforcement. Drones have really taken off (pun intended) in the past couple of years, though one of the challenges with jumping into the hobby is trepidation over the controls. We did not find that to be an issue with DJI's Mavic 2 Zoom, which we recently reviewed. DJI has announced its new Mavic 2 series of drones after a month of leaks. As expected, there are two models being announced today: the Mavic 2 Zoom and the Mavic 2 Pro. The Mavic 2 Zoom incorporates a 24-48mm 2x optical zoom lens with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor (12MP). Aperture ranges from f/2.8 to f/3.8, while ISO goes from 100 to 3200 for both stills and video. In addition, the camera is capable of capturing 4K video at 30fps, 2.7K video at 60fps and 1080p video at 120fps. Earlier in the month, a leak made the rounds that claimed to show the upcoming DJI Mavic 2 drone. The leak suggested that the drone might be able to detect obstacles with a 360-degree field of view. The Mavic 2 drone has since turned up in the latest Argos catalog, despite not being officially announced by DJI just yet. The catalog actually calls out two versions of the drone, one of them is the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, which packs a 1-inch sensor, and the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom with an integrated 24-48mm zoom lens and a "Dolly Zoom" effect.
