Android and iOS gamers who are fans of the Mario Kart franchise can now download Mario Kart Tour on both Android and iOS devices. Some fans of the game already had it installed on their Android and iOS devices ready to go. The catch was that the servers needed for the game to work weren't live. Nintendo fans wanting a new game to play on their iPhone or Android device will be glad to hear that Mario Kart Tour finally has a launch date. The game will land for both platforms on September 25. The launch date for the game was tipped by the game's Apple App Store page and by tweets from Nintendo. The game will see Mario and his pals racing around the world with courses inspired by real-world cities and classic Mario Kart courses. There is an odd veil of secrecy surrounding Mario Kart Tour, the upcoming mobile port of sorts that will see Mario and his friends (and enemies) hit the pavement on smartphones and tablets. Nevertheless, while information is few and far between, we now know at least one additional thing—there is closed beta headed to Android next month. The close beta is only being made available on Android, which is interesting. Why? That's part of why it was so exciting when Nintendo announced a year ago that it would be releasing Mario Kart Tour to smartphones by March 2019.
