We are inching closer to the universal availability of high-speed Internet. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently announced that there will soon be a larger Starlink broadband public beta. SpaceX is currently waiting for its sixty recently launched satellites to reach their “target positions” before the company can launch the expanded beta. The satellites were launched earlier this week after being delayed four times due to inclement weather and other issues. Astrophysicists estimate that all the satellites will fully reach their target positions by the middle of February 2021. T-Mobile's been having a rough time lately. First it failed to get an iPhone device, leaving it as the only major wireless carrier to offer one. And then the whole AT&T acquisition fell to pieces, which would have negated the iPhone's absence from T-Mobile, since AT&T already carries it. Customers aren't sticking around, either. T-Mobile recently announced that it lost 526,000 subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2011, compared with 23,000 customer losses in the same quarter one year prior, partially the result of "intense competitive pressure from the launch of the iPhone 4S by three nationwide competitors."
