Happy Halloween! Would it truly be a holiday in 2019 without a Google Doodle? The Halloween 2019 Google Doodle features an interactive game with “creepy” creatures. If you go to the Google homepage today, you will be taken a neighborhood that is all dressed up for Halloween. Each of the six orange doors reveals an animal that is associated with Halloween or tends to give people the creeps. The animals include an owl, bat, tarantula, wolf, octopus or a jaguar. Lifetimes are filled with iconic moments, and in mine, one of them is the fall of the Berlin Wall, an event that occurred 25 years ago. What once served as a concrete barrier between West Berlin and East Germany, and a symbolic divide between democracy and Communism, came crumbling down on November 9, 1989. I wasn't quite a teenager at the time, so while I remember the event, I hadn't fully grasped the significance of the moment. As far as Google's doodles are concerned, the search giant has been upping its game, both literally and figuratively. The latest doodle is a point-n-click adventure celebrating the famous Roswell UFO incident that occurred on this day in 1947, a full 66 years ago. U.S. officials contend that what crashed on a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico was a high-altitude surveillance balloon that, at the time, belonged to a classified program called Mogul, but many believe it was actually an extraterrestrial spacecraft.
