Samsung has announced that it has updated Samsung Health on the Gear S3 and Gear Sport wearables to help users of those smartwatches be smarter about wellness. The update to Samsung Health features 20 indoor workouts that allow the wearables to track 39 different types of exercises. Users see eight different workouts by default, and the display of the wearable can be customized to show whatever exercises the user chooses. The watches can record a series of exercises in succession, such as when users are having an arm day and move from bench press to arm curls. How do you follow up the launch of a highly anticipated handset in the Galaxy Note 8? If you are Samsung, you wait a week and then blitz IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany, with a refreshed wearables lineup. Samsung did exactly that today by introducing three new items to the wearable category, including the Gear Sport smartwatch, Gear Fit2 Pro fitness band, and Gear IconX cordless earbuds. We had an opportunity to spend some hands-on time with each one of them. Before anyone brings out the pitchforks over perceived typos in the product names, that is not our doing. Samsung has seemingly waged war against using spaces in product names, hence the Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear IconX. it is quirky, but whatever....
