Last year Samsung released the premium Galaxy Tab S3 tablet as an alternative to Apple's IPad Pro, but with its optional keyboard an additional software magic it also set its sights at some lower-end 2-in-1 laptop offerings as well. Samsung is trying to gear the Galaxy Tab series as the go-to option for anyone looking for an ultra-portable computing device, and this year's model ups the ante with a larger display, longer battery life, and a new desktop-like user interface called "DeX". In fact, you have probably heard of DeX before, if you've checked out our coverage of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and again with the Galaxy Note 9 but now it's available with the Tab S4 as well. When comparing the... Read more...
After a few leaks regarding its impending arrival, Samsung has officially unveiled its Galaxy Tab S4, its latest take on a "premium" Android tablet. A few years ago, Android tablets seemed to be all the rage, but they have seemingly fallen out of favor in recent years (Google has abandoned its own fist-party hardware altogether). But Samsung is striking back with a vengeance, giving the Galaxy Tab S4 a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (last year's flagship phone chip of choice) and a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560x1600 (287 ppi). Display bezels are also slimmer this time around and the home button has been completely removed. The tablet includes quad speakers with... Read more...
We have been waiting for Samsung to formally introduce its Galaxy Tab S4 for several months now. There were rumors that it would see an unveiling at Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year, but that event came and went without any mention of Samsung's next generation tablet. Now the talk has shifted to IFA 2018, and lending credence to that are what look to be official press renders. John Anon, the editor-in-chief of AndroidHeadlines, claims to have come across the purported official press renders by way of a "reliable source." They certainly look official to us, and we prefer these kind of leaks over the ones that consist of blurry photos in poor lighting, as if they were taken with a... Read more...
A new Android tablet has made an appearance on GFXBench and it hints at Samsung releasing a Galaxy Tab S4 in the near future. The listing in GFXBench displays the model number SM-T835. If you follow these things, you know that Samsung's Galaxy Tab S3 released last year has the model name SM-T825. It is therefore reasonable to assume that the SM-T835 at GFXBench is the Galaxy Tab S4, or will be when it's formally announced. We suspect Samsung will unveil its new tablet at Mobile World Congress (MWC) later his month. Incidentally, Samsung introduced its Galaxy Tab S3 at MWC 2017, so the writing is pretty much on the wall here. In case you need a refresher, the Galaxy Tab S3 debuted with a 9.7-inch... Read more...
