The era of crazy expensive smartphones is certainly upon us; iPhone models from last year along with Galaxy devices showed that smartphone makers believe consumers will spend over $1,000 on a new device. A new price leak out of China has surfaced that shows the price for the high-end Galaxy S10+ smartphone listed at 10,000 yuan, which is about $1,500. Previous pricing leaks have hinted that the device will sell for right around that same price in multiple parts of the world. Perhaps just as troubling for fans of the Galaxy S10+ is that the model right below that 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage top-of-the-line model packing 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage won't be much cheaper at 9,000 yuan,... You know what is coming soon from Samsung. And guess what? Samsung knows you know, as well. The company states as much in no uncertain terms on a new reservation webpage, in which you can sign up to reserve the next Galaxy device. It is not a pre-order page, as no money is exchanging hands, but you can jot your name down for the upcoming Galaxy S10 launch. The incentive for doing so is you will receive a $50 instant credit on accessories. Of course, a reservation system implies a bit of exclusivity, like reserving a table at a fancy restaurant to ensure you get a seat. But let's be real—there is not going to be a shortage of Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ handsets. That is not a knock on Samsung,... Read more...
There are three certainties in life—death, taxes, and Galaxy phone leaks. We have seen more than a fair share of all three, particularly the latter, and especially as Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event draws closer. Today, for example, we stumbled upon yet another Galaxy S10 leak (or rumor, if you will) pertaining to the Galaxy S10+ variant. Supposedly, Samsung will save its top SKU for a slightly later launch, at least in the Philippines. It's not clear if the staggered release schedule will apply to other territories as well. This does not apply to the Galaxy S10+ as a whole, but to a Limited Edition SKU with 12GB of memory and 1TB of onboard storage. Galaxy S10+ models with less RAM and... Read more...
When it comes to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 family of smartphones, we've hit the jackpot today. In two separate leaks, we're getting looks at both the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ from multiple angles. The first leak comes courtesy of the German blog AllAboutSamsung, which has posted the best images yet of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. From the front we can see minimal bezels all around along with a punch hole cutout for the front-facing cameras on the Galaxy S10; the Galaxy S10+ uses a double punch hole cutout since it has two selfie cameras.  Moving around to the back of the phones, you can see a horizontal pod that houses three cameras and an LED lash.... We have talked about plenty of rumors that focus on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone family. The last rumor came only a few days ago when a leak exposed the triple rear camera array and punch hole displays. The fact that the S10 family will use an in-display fingerprint reader was confirmed via the Samsung Pay app. Now, a new Galaxy S10 rumor is making the rounds, and this one is specifically about pricing. An Italian website called TuttoAndroid has ferreted out a new leak about the top-of-the-line Galaxy S10 Plus version with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage that claims that device will sell for €1,599, which is $1,817 when converted to U.S. currency. That would make... Read more...
A new benchmark published by Twitter user Ice Universe may give us our first look at the power inside of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 Plus smartphone flagship. Samsung's Galaxy S10 Plus will utilize the company's new Exynos 9820, which is a rather complex and unique SoC. It has eight CPU cores split into three groups. Two of the cores use ARM's Cortex-A75 architecture, and there are two cores based on a custom CPU architecture designed by Samsung. The last four cores all use the Cortex-A55 architecture and are intended for low-power tasks. The Exynos 9820 also has a powerful GPU based on ARM's Mali-G76 architecture with 12 EUs. Samsung also added an NPU, which is a specialized processing unit... Read more...
