Americans, get your wallets ready. Huawei just revealed that its Mate 9 smartphone will be available in the United States starting tomorrow, January 6th. The Mate 9 is the first smartphone to directly include Amazon’s Alexa. Users can ask Alexa questions or control smart home features with just their voice. Existing Mate 9 users will receive an over-the-air update with the functionality.  The Mate 9 features a Kirin 960 SoC, the first to include a ARM Cortex-A73/A53 Octa-core CPU and Mali G71 Octa-core GPU. If you were already a fan of Samsung’s Notebook 9 series, the South Korean electronics giant has just given you a few more reasons to consider pulling out your credit card. Samsung has not only made some tweaks to the exterior of the 13.3- and 15-inch notebooks, but it has upgraded the internal hardware to keep the pace with the latest in processing and storage technologies. Samsung has pared down the rough edges, giving the notebooks gentler curves and the bezels have been minimized along the sides (although rather thick bezels remain at the top and bottom). BMW will debut its HoloActive Touch floating in-car virtual touch screen at CES 2017. The HoloActive Touch is a free-floating, touch sensitive display that shows drivers information such as music and navigation. The display is located to the right of the driver’s steering wheel and is operated by using finger gestures. A camera detects the driver’s hand movements and registers where the fingers are positioned.
